Make Time For Yourself
1. Sit down and read a
book. Make
yourself a nice glass of iced tea, pick up a fun-to-read
book and stretch out outside or on the couch. Try, The
Wonder Spot, by
Melissa Bank,
Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, by
Lisa See or
Little Chapel
on the River by Gwendolyn Bounds.
2. Get a
pedicure and
show off your nice feet with sandals. Talk a walk on the
beach. The sand is good for your feet.
3. Take a day off. People need to
re-charge their inner
batteries. Have
lunch with a friend, see a movie or a show.
4. Pick some flowers to decorate your
house with. Dry some (between a books pages) and use
them to decorate.
5. Sell or give away your used clothes
to charity. Buy new clothes and some nice new hangers
for them too.
6. Put together a photo
album. Collect
all those loose photos you have lying around, and be
creative. Make a scrapbook, too.
7. Watch the sun go down. It can be
really magical and fun.
8. Start a garden. Plant seeds and
watch them grow. Radishes are the quickest to come up.
9. Go stargazing. Drive somewhere that
there are not too many street lights, so you can have a
nice uninterrupted view.
10. Go swimming. Join a health club or
spa.
11. Drink some champagne. Champagne
goes well with many foods and it is light and bubbly. It
is better than beer with grilled meats, spicy chicken
and hot dogs.
12. Add mint to your drinks. It gives
them a nice light cool taste.
13. Eat some berries. They are full of
antioxidants. Sprinkle them on cereal, or use them to
bake with.
14. Use a body scrub. They come in the
salt and sugar varieties. Some have a citrus scent. You
will feel refreshed and invigorated.
15. Ride a bike. Don't have one, rent
one for a day.
16. Go to the amusement park and ride
the roller coaster. Have some fun!
17. Blow bubbles. Play ball or eat
cotton candy.
18. Play a game. How about
horseshoes?? Or badminton or table tennis.
19. Go on a long walk in your city.
Visit a trendy restaurant or museum.
20. Go to a street festival or free
concert in the park.
21. See a movie outdoors. Some cities
still have drive-ins.
22. Take your dog to the park or the
beach.
23. Have a barbecue. Cook outs are
always fun.
24. Go on a picnic with your husband
or boyfriend (in your own backyard).
25. Have your hair done. A new "do"
almost always makes you feel good.
